Summer of Fun at the Pool!

Treats, Games and Family Fun Beginning June 6th! Every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the Month from 1:00-1:30 At The Pool! Family Open Swim and Popsicles!*Pool Closed for Lap Swim**1:00-1:30*

The Mountain Brook branch has one saline (salt water) recreation pool, one baby pool, and 2 whirlpools.  The recreation pool is 25 yards long, with a depth range of 3.5-8.5 feet.  It is covered in the off-season for year-round availability.  The baby pool has a depth of 1 foot on both sides and 2 feet in the middle.  It is open from June to August.  The whirlpools are located in both the men and women's locker rooms.

The recreational pool hours are:

*The Aquatics area closes thirty minutes before the Y does each day. This includes the pool, the deck, and the locker rooms. 

Monday-Thursday 5:00am - 8:30pm; Friday 5:00am - 7:30pm; Saturday 7:00am - 5:30pm; Sunday 8:00am - 6:30pm.  Open swim begins at 9:00am each day.

*2 Lap Lanes open from 4pm - 8pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday

Details: 2 hour party with 1 hour and 15 minutes in the pool and 45 minutes in the party room. Cost: $125 for members and $150 for non-members for up to 15 swimmers! (extra $25 per 10 swimmers)

FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR CHILD, the Birmingham YMCA requires all children 14 and under to take a swim test. the swim test is as follows: The child must complete a deep water plunge jumping into the deepest part of the pool and swimming 25 yards (the length of the pool) the child must also tread water for 30 seconds. If the child passes the test, he or she will receive a re-usable Green wristband and may swim free in the pool. If the child does not pass the test or does not want to take the test, he or she will receive a re-usable Red wristband and will need to do one of the following: The child must wear a life jacket; OR If no life jacket is worn, an adult 18 or older must be in the pool with the child no more than an arm's length away. Wristbands are to be returned to the lifeguard when leaving the pool.
