The YMCA strives to put Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. We emphasize teamwork, good sportsmanship, self esteem and a respect for one another. YMCA Sports leagues are different from competitive club leagues in that everyone receives equal practice and play time. We’ve also modified each sport to make it safer and more enjoyable to play. Through our sports programs, we grow all participants regardless of ability, gender, race, or religious creed. We encouraging parents and coaches to support our kids with positive reinforcement and believe competition is a positive process when the pursuit of victory is kept in the right perspective.
We offer multiple sports, sports clinics, fitness and general interest programs designed around and for kids ranging in age from 3- 16 year old, managed by YMCA staff and outside 'specialty' trainers.
YMCA sports register players whether you are a YMCA member or not and play among other YMCA branches. Our leagues are divided into age-ranges or grade (3-14yo) and are both co-ed and gender specific. Our leagues are officiated with experienced YMCA staff. Our coaches are volunteers and given tools to make their efforts pay off. Soccer is offered in the Spring and Fall. Coaches are mandated to take the Online Course and send in the certification form. All parents of registered players are required to read and sign the Concussion Awareness Form and return it to the coach prior to the first practice / game. Learning about the signs and steps to respond to head injuries, will allow everyone to play safe. Remember: If you think your athlete has sustained a concussion, take him/her out of play!.
